this is jubilee

 

hi! hello! hey! as my time on the race comes to a close (don’t worry, it’s not that type of blog) i just realized that i never told you all about my team!!! for so long i just didn’t know how to write about them. how to show the joy & life i see in their faces. how to explain the gratitude i carry every single day for being able to love & be loved by them. but this is the best i can do :)) sooooo i decided to write a 2 parter about them. about us! our name & who we are. where we’ve been & where the Lord is leading us. now, without further ado here are the fierce, firm & free woman of jubilee! 

 

quincy – 24/7 will get down to booggieeee! dance partner 4 life! i’ve seen her heart for God grow as she explores the depths of theology & what that means for us. 

emily – a steady woman who pulls others up onto the rock that is Christ. she once got bangs and i pretended to like them but didn’t like them & now i love them (fo real) 

kayla – wild child. wild in how she laughs & loves others & speaks her mind. sometimes i feel like i can see actual fire in her eyes as she pursues the Lord. 

abby – the kind of team leader that is the first to wash dishes & last to say no to an adventures! this woman is a breath of fresh air. like lavender essential oils air. 

rikky – our beds in guatemala was hands down my favorite place to hang. a woman who holds my heart & pushes it further into the Fathers hands. 

claire – catch her watching sewing videos or renovating an old colonial home. this woman is a brave one, for sure. & she has been essential to sharpening our small church. 

 

one time, when we were in guatemala we were having what i thought was a mundane team time, & the Lord used it to reveal to me His greater heart for us. i can’t remember exactly what we were talking about. but it was such a simple thing, yet each of us had a different perspective on the matter. 

 

so as you know me, i got out my phone to jot some stuff on my notes app, of course. here’s what it said: 

“God i pray that your glory will be evident in this team.”

tonight i was filled with so much gratitude about this team. Thank you God that You intentionally created us to think differently. That when we’re around Your table we can all bring our different perspectives. That we can seek to understand, but not seek to conform. That blue & yellow aren’t bad or wrong, we just need some red & pink too. That all of our lives & stories & skills & beliefs really do create a beautiful tapestry. May our tapestry bring You the utmost glory. Thanks papa that it was never about uniformity, but unity. Forever all my days hallelujah. ??????????????????” 

 

also i really loved emojis then so of course i had to give each member one. 

 

so yeah, here we are. this is my team & i love them more than words will allow me. lookout for part 2 to see more of them!
