7:20am- rise & shine!! i usually wake up in my tent around this time to get dressed, brush my hair, listen to maverick city music and pack for the day.

8:00am- breakfast! each team takes turns serving each other breakfast that was prepared by our selfless kitchen staff! (shoutout to stephen, nick & james!) one of my favorite breakfast meals is the strawberry yogurt with granola and bananas.

9:00am – devos! we usually have 45mins to spend our alone time with God. whether that looks like sitting & reading your bible, doing watercolor, playing your guitar, or just sitting in the sun and praying for God to reveal Himself. my favorite way to have devo time is sitting on our porch steps, reading small passages of scripture, and journaling a ton about it!

10am-12pm – teachings! these 2 months have been such a sweet time of learning from people who have walked with the Lord for years & years. some of my favorite teachings have been about spiritual authority, culture & contextualization, and what the Kingdom of God is like. we have been given the privilege of pressing in to our speakers, our leaders, our bibles, and the Fathers heart for us.

12pm- temp checks! to ensure everyone’s safety and health, we take temperature checks before lunch to make sure that no one has a fever or is feeling ill.

12:30pm- lunch! one of my favorite lunches recently was the grilled cheese & chicken noodle soup!

1:30pm- rotations! each day these look different.
on monday’s we have laundry (w/ the buckets!).
on tuesdays we have showers in our sweet shipping containers! then on wednesdays we have fun squad time & cleaning. on thursdays we have squad exercise time (football, soccer, tag, relay workouts, etc) & showers again! then for friday’s we have…… MINISTRY!!! this is by far one of the sweetest times of the week where we get to go into Gainseville and do evangelism. we usually walk around in the town square and continuously pray and ask the Lord “okay God, where do you want me to go today?” and then we go! i’ve had some really kind & meaningful conversations with people these past few weeks & im so honored that we get to keep doing this. (also we were masks the whole time #safetyfirst)

5:30pm- dinner! this is a time to for fellowship, laughter, testimonies, and some good grub! one of my favorite dinner meals is the quesadillas, mexican rice & salad!

6:30pm- team time! here’s a breakdown of what each team time night looks like:
monday- bible project video & processing
tuesday- fun night! (scavenger hunt, watch an episode of family feud, a movie, etc)
wednesday- gratitude! we either write notes for other squadmates or share what we’re thankful for or share with each other affirmative feedback.
thursday- feedback! this is a night to encourage each other how we’re growing in our walk with the Lord, as well as calling each other higher in how we can grow into Him more. friday- debrief! for this we kinda just talk about our team and any updates or prayers for each other, as well as preparing for the next week.

after team time we usually have free time to catch up with family, hangout, play games & get ready for bed! on wednesday nights we have all squad worship. so far we’ve done music, poetry night, prayers and listening to past squads worship tracks. this time has been really kind & intentional time lift our voices to our Father.

10:00pm- lights out! i have been sleeping in my tent at our campsite with a few other women, and it’s been a blessing. i’m falling in love with my tiny home & space everyday <33

so yeah, that’s a day in the life of a racer in 2020! each day God brings new mercies, new manna, new breath, new circumstances, new troubles, new refinement and His constant faithfulness in it all.

all my love,
