Friends!! I know it’s been a while since my last blog post so i’m here to give you all a lil insight on what life has looked like lately. I’ve been living in Gainesville, Georgia for about a month now, leading & discipling about 35 Gap Year racers. On my team specifically i’ve been leading 5 incredible women. The days are long & sometimes hard but i’ve seen the face of God so many times, it’s worth it. This month has looked like teaching, learning, friendship, conviction, redemption and so much goodness. God has been too kind to me. So here’s a few pictures to display a glimpse of that goodness !!
On September 11th we welcomed all of the racers to campus to start training for oversees. We gave big hugs, helped set up tents, took covid tests, prayed over each other and celebrated hard. After months & months of waiting we’re all finally HERE!! & I couldn’t be prouder to witness it.
Being back in Gainesville means getting to experience all of what this campus has to offer again. I’ve been sleeping in my big gray tent again, eating some REALLY GOOD food for meals (s/o to the kitchen staff!) & walking up and down the wooden gravel steps a couple hundred times a day. God’s beauty is so evidently upon this campus & the sunrises here are proof of that!!
Our leadership team arrived here two weeks before the racers did to be trained in teachings, how to lead team times, sharing our testimonies, and just bonding a whole lot. One of my favorite days was actually a 6-hour mental health training day at our mentors house. My mentor Kirsten made us homemade cinnamon rolls, we laid out in the sun, & our training was so helpful! I’ve really loved learning from the other team leaders on how to lead in humility & kindness.
Being back also means experiencing non-stop community again. We’ve had lots of teachings, worship sessions, games of go fish, movies, & just nights to stay up and share stories. It’s been so sweet to live with people who are learning to love the Lord!
Lastly, I’ve been given the opportunity to lead this amazing team. Our team name is Anavah (which means humility in Hebrew; a team blog to come soon). We’ve been having celebratory breakfasts, bible studies, gratitude nights, learning how to give healthy feedback, and so many laughs around the table. These women are strong, wise, gentle & SO HUNGRY for the Lord’s righteousness.
So! That’s been my life lately! Thank you so much for following along on this journey & always supporting me! Keep an eye out for more updates to come. And feel free to reach out with any questions or comments about what I’m doing.
May His favor be upon you
Lots of love,
