friends!! i’m here! i’ve been in Guatemala for about two weeks now & each day has been sweeter than the last. i’m all settled into my living space, ministry schedule, & routine for the next few months. God is good. He is faithful & consistent & patient & i wouldn’t be where I am today without His underserving grace.

in these past few days I think that the Lord has been teaching me what the Kingdom of God is like, so i took a few notes. some were really funny moments where i would ask myself “what am i even doing here?” and other ones were direct whispers from God saying “this is Kingdom”. here’s a peek into them:

The Kingdom of God is like

  • walking up to an ambulance to take out a grill and some hula hoops, and then carrying it to a random persons backyard.
  • riding in a reallyyy windy back of a pickup truck on the way home from ministry.
  • buying a painting of women in a fire, from an artist who has no arms, and getting to pray over her!
  • building a really sweet friendship with a girl your age, and the foundation of it being that neither one of us can speak the others’ language. commitment & love baby!
  • buying a baby avocado keychain from a store because the Lord spoke avocados over you during ministry.
  • eating chocolate ice cream out of the tub with 15 other women & just doing life.
  • carrying apple juice boxes through an actually jungle, then getting your pants ripped from crawling under barbed wire.
  • sitting on a couch and watching your squad pour their hearts out before the Lord during worship. truly something beautiful.
  • hosting a kids camp in a dirty field in the middle of a village, and rolling around in it just to have the kids tackle you.
  • not knowing what kind of ministry is for you that day, but still speaking light & life over ever circumstance!
  • cooking team meals for under $23 (for a whole team of 7!) it’s a bonding experience :))
  • having your parents fully fund a teammate of yours, just because you heard their names in your head.
  • giving your undivided, unrestrained, absolutely-without-a-doubt YES to the Lord, every single minute of every single day.

My friends, this is Kingdom. everyday isn’t perfect or easy or without troubles, but every single day the Father shows up. And what an absolute honor it is to love His kids in the not knowing of this world. His kingdom come, His will be done.
